Turkish Coffee Trail Small-Group Tour
On this guided tour, get a taste of Turkish Delight and learn about the history of coffee—a popular national drink in Turkey with a long historical tradition. With a small group of 15 people, see small streets, take a coffee making course, and taste renowned Turkish coffee.
The Turkish coffee story began in Egypt, where the Ottomans brought the first coffee beans to Istanbul in 1519. The first coffee shops opened some 30 years later in Eminonu district. Your tour begins with a Coffee Route, where you have a coffee tasting in historical venues. Along the way, see tiny streets, historical walkways, intriguing old bazaars, and Ottoman coffee storages.
Then, you visit Haci Bekir, a confectioner specializing in traditional sweets such as Turkish Delight and hard candy. Your tour finishes with a Turkish coffee making course where participants get a certificate at the end. And a guide provides exhilarating and valuable commentary to bring the past to life.
